Hi!
I have to say I am getting kind of excited! Dr. Denker has ordered some blood work to monitor my hormone levels and my ovulation. I go tomorrow and get the blood work done (I hate blood work).
Dr. Denker also wrote me a script for birth control... weird I know, but I have to start it on the third day of my next cycle. I'm told by the experts at Palm Beach Fertility that this stops me from ovulating so I can save all my eggs for transfer - IVF!
I also made my appointment for my SIS and Trial Transfer. SIS is saline infusion sonogram (saline sonography) and is routinely performed to make sure that the endometrial cavity (inside of the uterus) appears normal. In addition to SIS they also like to evaluate the shape and length of the cervix and uterus by performing a trial embryo transfer under ultrasound guidance with the same catheters and techniques we use for the embryo transfer (IVF). During the trial transfer they will take measurements and make notes that they can refer to during our embryo transfer. If problems are encountered during the trial transfer we can make the necessary changes to ensure the best embryo transfer possible.
After my SIS and Trial Transfer in a few weeks I start my injections. Before the IVF procedure I will have to have several injections (hormones) that will help me produce lots of follicles (eggs). One of the injections is called Lupron and the other is Progesterone.
I do not want to make this blog too clinical - so I will not go into all the medical details and meanings of everything. To be honest Dr. Denker and his staff worry about all the clinical things... I am just doing what I am suppose to do and relax.
Relaxing and being stress free is a MUST! So I am trying to stay calm. It's harder than it sounds!!! I did not realize how stressed I am all the time... LOL.
To those of you reading this that are trying to grow or start your family - CALL PALM BEACH FERTILITY CENTER and ask for Eliza! Trust me when I tell you that you NEED to have them on your side. I am in the beginning stages and they already have made me feel so GREAT.
My wonderful husband is mixing my prenatal vitamin mixture now for me to take. Dr. Denker mixes his own special blend of vitamins (they are good!). He is taking male vitamins too, as he has infertility issues.
Well I will keep you posted. Click here to see more.
